The ACT Government has committed to a long-term plan to support ACT Policing (ACTP) to take possession of the whole Gungahlin JESC building to increase operational capacity.

The Joint Emergency Services Centre in Gungahlin is currently home to ACT Policing, ACT Fire and Rescue, ACT Rural Fire Service, ACT Ambulance Service and ACT State Emergency Service.

This project aims to improve accommodation for these services in the growing Gungahlin region.

The project will be delivered in three phases:

  • Phase 1: will relocate the ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT State Emergency Service to a site in Mitchell. Due 2024.
  • Phase 2: will refurbish the current Gungahlin JESC to increase the operational footprint of ACT Policing within the facility. Due 2024.; and
  • Phase 3: Due diligence works to relocate ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire and Rescue to a new site in Casey.
