Upgrades to Phillip District Enclosed Oval will improve sporting facilities in Woden Valley.

The Phillip District Enclosed Oval is located on the corner of Ainsworth Street and Albermarle Place.

Construction of a new pavilion at the oval will include a community area, a kiosk, changerooms, general-purpose rooms, amenities and storage facilities.

The project also includes:

  • refurbishment of the existing Michael O'Connor grandstand
  • installation of new LED sportsground lighting to support night-time use
  • construction of new maintenance facilities (storage shed)
  • general oval upgrades.

All changerooms will be female friendly.

Key sporting user groups have been involved in this project. This includes Canberra Royals Rugby Union Football Club, Canberra Region Rugby League, Woden Valley Rams Rugby League Club, Weston Creek Molonglo Cricket Club and Cricket ACT.
