Expected Project Completion
A new Emergency Services Station in the Molonglo Valley is bringing ambulance and fire and rescue services closer to residents.
The Molonglo district population is estimated to double between 2017 and 2028 and is currently the fastest growing district in the ACT. These additional services will also improve community safety through a higher level of emergency services available across the ACT.
The Molonglo station will provide ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire & Rescue staff with modern infrastructure that supports their work and wellbeing.
The new Emergency Services Station site is located on Cotter Road, between John Gorton Drive and Steve Irwin Avenue in Coombes.
Forward planning and the preliminary design for the new station has been completed. Construction is expected to commence in mid-2024 and the station will be handed over to ESA (Emergency Services Agency) in mid-2026.
Project benefits
Benefits of the new Molonglo Emergency Services Station include:
- More access to emergency services in the ACT
- Quicker response times to emergency incidents
- A modern facility to support our first responders in their service to the ACT community.
