Raising London Circuit - Light Rail to Woden (act.gov.au)

Raising London Circuit will help activate the southern part of the CBD and the Canberra Theatre Precinct and better connect the city to the lake.

This major road project will raise London Circuit by six metres to create a level intersection at Commonwealth Avenue. It will also include new walking and cycling paths and will enable the next stage of light rail to Woden.

To facilitate the main works, the southern portion of London Circuit between Edinburgh Avenue and Constitution Avenue is closed for the duration of construction.

The two cloverleaf ramps off Commonwealth Avenue to Parkes Way and London Circuit have permanently closed.

Work will be completed in stages to minimise the impact to traffic on Commonwealth Avenue bridge between Parkes Way and Vernon Circle. Two lanes will be maintained on Commonwealth Avenue in each direction whenever possible and always during peak times.

Traffic lights at the Parkes Way roundabout on Coranderrk Street and on Vernon Circle have been installed. These lights will help improve traffic flow in and around the city during construction and facilitate public transport movement.

The ACT Government will continue to work with the community to minimise construction impacts throughout the city. We will be telling you early and often about upcoming traffic changes, delays and transport and travel alternatives.

Raising London Circuit is an enabling project for the stage 2 light rail to Woden extension. More project and construction information is available on the Light Rail to Woden website.
