Planning for this project is in its early stages. The Education Directorate will provide opportunities for the local community to gather information and provide feedback. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please email ACT.Education@act.gov.au.

Planning is underway for a new college for the Molonglo Valley. This school will meet the college enrolment needs of the region's growing population.

In the 2023-24 Budget, the ACT Government committed $2 million for feasibility, planning and design work towards the new college.

This investment builds on our commitment to plan and deliver new public schools for the growing Molonglo Valley population.

The new college will be the fifth new public school for the region.

Other new public schools in the Molonglo Valley are:

  • Charles Weston School (primary school)
  • Evelyn Scott School junior campus (primary school)
  • Evelyn Scott School senior campus (high school)
  • A new ECEC and Primary School for Whitlam.

The Molonglo Valley’s college will be constructed with a focus on sustainability. The inclusive learning and teaching settings will be designed to support the learning and wellbeing needs of all students.

The timing for delivery of the college and future investment will be subject to a future Budget process. This decision will be informed by the design work, including input received through engagement with local schools and the community.

Project benefits:

The Molonglo Valley College project will provide:

  • an option for college education close to home for Molonglo Valley residents
  • community access to school facilities outside of school hours
  • increased teaching opportunities in Canberra
  • modern learning environments for a top-quality education experience for staff and students.
